THE EFFECT OF SOWING TIME AND SEEDING RATE ON SORGHUM SILAGE YIELD
Abstract
The results of studies conducted on the slightly saline soils of the Jizzakh region for the white sorghum varieties “Uzbekistan 5” and “Uzbekistan 18” included in the State Register, are analyzed. The research carried out from 2018 to 2020, examined the impact of sowing dates (April 1, April 15, May 1) and seeding rates (from 92,0 to 184,0 thousand seeds/ha) on yield and quality indicators. The results showed that the sowing date of April 15 provides the highest silage yield.
