CELLULAR AND GENETIC TECHNOLOGIES IN REPRODUCTIVE BIOTECHNOLOGY
Abstract
Cellular and genetic methods provide fundamentally new opportunities for managing the reproductive potential of animals: from the selection and modification of genes that control fertility to the creation of clones and transgenic lines. These technologies allow preserving and distributing valuable genotypes, investigating the mechanisms of embryo development, and optimizing breeding programs.
