MULTIDIMENSIONAL CHALLENGES OF UAV USE IN AGRICULTURE: TECHNOLOGY, ENVIRONMENT AND GOVERNANCE

PDF

Abstract

In the context of digital transformation and the development of precision agriculture approaches, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are emerging as one of the key technological tools for optimizing agricultural production processes. Agricultural UAVs equipped with high resolution optical, multispectral and thermal sensors enable the monitoring of crop status, the calculation of vegetation indices, the mapping of soil heterogeneity, the optimization of irrigation and fertilization, and the early detection of diseases and pests. This technology also has the potential to increase the efficiency of resource use through more accurate aerial application of pesticides and fertilizers.
