ASSESSMENT OF DAILY FUNCTIONING IN PEOPLE WITH CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE: CLINICAL AND REHABILITATION APPROACHES

PDF

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is one of the leading chronic non-communicable diseases, characterised by a progressive decline in kidney function and the development of systemic disorders. According to current clinical guidelines, CKD is defined as structural or functional changes in the kidneys that persist for more than three months and are accompanied by a reduction in glomerular filtration rate or the presence of markers of renal tissue damage [1]. The prevalence of CKD in the population is approximately 10–13%, and as the disease progresses, the risk of cardiovascular complications, disability and premature mortality increases
