IMPACT OF COMBINATION THERAPY ON APOB/APOA1 RATIO AND CARDIOMETABOLIC PARAMETERS IN YOUNG PATIENTS WITH MAFLD AND SUBCLINICAL CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE

Abstract

Metabolic dysfunction–associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) represents a growing global health burden closely linked to obesity, insulin resistance, and early cardiovascular remodeling. Patients with MAFLD frequently demonstrate an atherogenic lipid profile characterized by an elevated ApoB/ApoA1 ratio. This biomarker reflects the balance between pro‑atherogenic and anti‑atherogenic lipoproteins and has been proposed as a superior predictor of cardiovascular risk compared to traditional lipid parameters. The present study evaluates the clinical impact of combination therapy including semaglutide on metabolic, hepatic, and vascular markers in high‑risk patients. Particular attention was paid to dynamic changes in insulin resistance and subclinical vascular alterations.
