BIOCHEMICAL MARKERS OF ADAPTATION TO COMPLETE REMOVABLE DENTURES: MONITORING OF LPO/AOS IN ORAL FLUID

Abstract

Prosthetic treatment for complete edentulism is accompanied by transient oxidative stress in the oral fluid, manifesting as a sharp activation of LPO (up to +270%) and an imbalance in the antioxidant system - a decrease in SOD, an increase in catalase, and a reduction in thiol levels by the 7th day after denture placement. By the 30th day, the indicators show normalization, and in the long-term (180-360 days), a stable biochemical equilibrium is established, reflecting the completion of the adaptation period. Monitoring LPO/AOS is an informative criterion for adaptation to removable dentures and can serve as a basis for personalizing orthopedic rehabilitation.
