CLINICAL AND DIAGNOSTIC FEATURES AND MODERN APPROACHES TO THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH METABOLIC SYNDROME AND COMORBID CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE
Abstract
Metabolic syndrome (MS) is one of the most common multifactorial pathologies, characterized by a combination of insulin resistance, abdominal obesity, arterial hypertension, and dyslipidemia. In recent years, special attention has been paid to its role in the development of chronic kidney disease (CKD), which significantly worsens the prognosis and increases the risk of cardiovascular complications. The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical and diagnostic features of metabolic syndrome in its comorbid course with chronic kidney disease, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of modern treatment approaches. The study results indicate that patients with metabolic syndrome often exhibit early signs of kidney dysfunction, including a decreased glomerular filtration rate and the presence of microalbuminuria. A significant correlation has been established between disorders of carbohydrate metabolism, increased liver enzyme activity, and deteriorating kidney function, which supports the concept of a metabolic-hepato-renal axis. A comprehensive approach to diagnosis and treatment can increase therapeutic efficacy and slow the progression of the disease.
