Abstract
Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are currently one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 18 million people die from cardiovascular diseases each year. In this regard, interest in studying the cardioprotective properties of naturally occurring substances is continuously growing.
