Abstract

Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) is a precancerous condition strongly associated with persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. The most effective way to prevent cervical cancer is early diagnosis and timely treatment of preinvasive lesions of the cervical epithelium. Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) is characterized by potentially precancerous transformation and abnormal growth (dysplasia) of squamous epithelium on the surface of the cervix.
