DIGITAL LONELINESS IN CYBERSPACE AND THE EVOLUTION OF SOCIAL PLATFORMS

PDF

Abstract

This article examines the phenomenon of digital loneliness in cyberspace and traces the evolution of social platforms from their early forms to contemporary algorithmically mediated networks. While modern technologies have substantially enhanced everyday convenience, they have simultaneously reshaped interpersonal relationships and exerted measurable pressure on human psychology. Drawing on contemporary theoretical perspectives and recent empirical data, the study identifies the principal drivers of digital loneliness, examines its social and psychological consequences, and advances recommendations for its mitigation.
