INTERDISCIPLINARITY AS A METHODOLOGICAL NECESSITY OF MODERN SCIENCE: SYNERGY OF FINANCIAL, TECHNICAL AND INSTITUTIONAL APPROACHES TO THE MODERNISATION OF UKRAINE'S STRATEGIC SECTORS

Abstract

This article substantiates the methodological necessity of the interdisciplinary approach in contemporary scientific research aimed at addressing complex socioeconomic challenges. Drawing on a series of the author's publications on the financial, technical and institutional dimensions of Ukraine's energy transition, the article demonstrates that monodisciplinary analysis is fundamentally limited: an isolated financial model without technical grounding, a technical finding without a financial and regulatory context, and an institutional solution without a market foundation are each practically ineffective. The theoretical framework integrates three conceptual schools: transaction cost economics, the concept of programmable governance, and contemporary interdisciplinary methodology. Practical recommendations are proposed for designing interdisciplinary research — from problem-oriented question formulation to ensuring methodological integrity and identifying synergy points across disciplines. The article positions Ukraine as a unique "laboratory environment" for piloting advanced models of digital governance and innovation finance, where interdisciplinarity is not an academic advantage but a practical necessity.
