COGNITIVE AND ANTHROPOCENTRIC PRINCIPLES OF DESIGNING AN ENGLISH-UZBEK PEDAGOGICAL IDIOM DICTIONARY FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL LEARNERS

PDF

Abstract

The contemporary shift toward an anthropocentric paradigm in applied linguistics has fundamentally redefined the role of the language learner, moving them from a passive consumer of linguistic data to the central organizing element of lexicographic design. Idioms and phraseological units represent the cognitive and cultural core of any natural language, acting as vessels that reflect a speech community's distinct conceptual worldview.
