HOMOCYSTEINE LEVELS IN CHILDREN WITH METABOLIC DISORDERS: A POTENTIAL BIOMARKER OF EARLY CARDIOVASCULAR RISK

Abstract

The global prevalence of childhood obesity has increased dramatically during the last decades and represents one of the major public health challenges. Obesity is associated with insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, hypertension, endothelial dysfunction, and chronic inflammation.
