USE OF TISSUE DOPPLER ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY IN CHILDREN WITH OBESITY
Abstract
The present study was conducted at the Pediatric Cardiology Department to evaluate myocardial function in overweight and obese children using Tissue Doppler Imaging (TDI). A total of 50 children aged 8–17 years were enrolled in the study. The study population included 23 boys (46.0%) and 27 girls (54.0%). All participants underwent anthropometric assessment, including measurements of height, body weight, body mass index (BMI), and classification of nutritional status according to the World Health Organization (WHO) BMI-for-age criteria.
