ISSUES OF ENSURING HIGH ACCURACY IN GEAR FORMING USING PROGRESSIVE METHODS
Abstract
In mechanical engineering, the generation of gear tooth surfaces is one of the most labor-intensive technological processes. The machining of gear tooth surfaces requires the use of complex and costly cutting tools and specialized equipment. Therefore, in addition to increasing productivity during the tooth generation process, ensuring the required accuracy of their geometric and kinematic parameters is regarded as one of the key technological challenges. One of the principal directions for improving gear tooth generation processes is the development of novel technological methods and machining processes, the expansion of the kinematic capabilities of machine tools, and the enhancement of the dynamic performance of their working units. Studies conducted at the Azerbaijan Technical University have demonstrated that the method of machining external cylindrical gear tooth surfaces using a stepped rack-type tool provides higher productivity and superior machining quality compared with the conventional gear rack shaping process.Author Biography
