IMPACT OF POSTCHOLECYSTECTOMY SYNDROME ON MINERAL METABOLISM AND OSTEOINTEGRATION PROCESSES OF DENTAL IMPLANTS

PDF

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the nature and degree of the impact of postcholecystectomy syndrome on mineral metabolism indicators and the dynamics of dental implant osseointegration. Materials and methods. The study included 87 patients with verified postcholecystectomy syndrome, divided into three subgroups by severity (mild — 31 patients, moderate — 38 patients, severe — 18 patients) according to clinical and laboratory criteria. The control group consisted of 40 patients without hepatobiliary system pathology. The levels of 25 (OH) D, total and ionized calcium, phosphorus, parathyroid hormone, alkaline phosphatase, and osteocalcin were determined. Osseointegration was assessed using resonance frequency analysis (implant stability quotient, ISQ) at the stage of placement, and after 1, 3, and 6 months, as well as radiographically using cone-beam CT. Results and discussion. An inverse correlation was established between the severity of postcholecystectomy syndrome and the level of 25 (OH) D (r= -0.64; p<0.001).
