THE STUDY OF THE FEATURES OF THE COURSE OF LABOR IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SEVERE PREECLAMPSIA

PDF

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a multisystem pathological condition specific to the latter half of pregnancy (beyond the 20th week), preeclampsia is defined by the presence of hypertension coupled with proteinuria, edema, and manifestations of multiorgan compromise. The pathogenesis of preeclampsia is heavily influenced by endothelial dysfunction, which disrupts the normal regulatory mechanisms of angiogenesis. This obstetric pathology carries a substantial risk of both maternal and perinatal mortality. Preeclampsia is unique to pregnant individuals and the immediate postpartum phase (days 1-3 after birth), with clinical presentation typically observed after 20 weeks of gestation. Severity is categorized as either moderate or severe, with eclampsia representing a particularly dangerous sequela. The purpose of the study was to study the features of the course of labor during the realization of preeclampsia. Materials and methods. The study cohort comprised 169 pregnant women with a confirmed diagnosis of preeclampsia, who constituted the main study group.
