OPTIMIZATION OF DENTAL IMPLANTATION IN PATIENTS AFTER LAPAROSCOPIC CHOLECYSTECTOMY, CONSIDERING RISK FACTORS FOR PERI-IMPLANT COMPLICATIONS

PDF

Abstract

The aim of the study was to optimize the dental implantation protocol in patients who had undergone laparoscopic cholecystectomy based on identifying and correcting modifiable risk factors for peri-implant complications. Materials and Methods. A total of 150 patients aged 32 to 64 years were examined and divided into two groups. The main group consisted of 96 patients who had undergone laparoscopic cholecystectomy between 6 months and 3 years prior to implantation. The comparison group included 54 patients with no history of hepatobiliary diseases. All patients underwent a standard dental examination, cone-beam computed tomography, determination of bone density in the implantation zone (Hounsfield units), laboratory testing of vitamin D (25 (OH) D), parathyroid hormone, calcium, alkaline phosphatase, and bone remodeling markers (osteocalcin, β-CrossLaps), as well as an oral microbiota assessment. The main group was further divided into subgroups depending on the time elapsed since surgery and the presence of postcholecystectomy syndrome.
