In close connection with the foregoing we also analyse the next principle, the principle of family-centrism (rhodocentrism). Modern higher educational institutions need it in the study of Ukrainian folk dumas. During the times of Rus-Ukraine, family-centrism was the basis in the educational process and was destroyed by the Soviet system. As Lukyanenko notes, a teacher «did not just teach, and a student did not just study» [3]. Pedagogical communication was easy, based on «understanding the world through the eyes of another, the perception of this universe and the understanding of its significance» [3]. In the creative cooperation of a student and a teacher the potential of ancestors laid down in the genetic memory, an atmosphere of mutual understanding was created, it also activated the teaching and upbringing process. Therefore, during the study of Ukrainian folk dumas we should remember that the mechanical transfer of foreign experience will not only destroy the achievements of our predecessors but will also direct the process of education to an unnatural path of development. We need to borrow what is close to us mentally, compare and take something that will improve the teaching and educational process and won’t make any harm to it. We won’t have any problems in that case when we know our own well, when the nation will be the basis for understanding of someone else’s.
