SPORTS TERMINOLOGY IN AZERBAIJANI AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES

Abstract

The formation of the sports lexicon of the Azerbaijani language roughly coincides with the 5th century. Ancient sports terms form a special layer in the Azerbaijani language. This layer has preserved the past of ancient sports fields. The ancient lexicon of sports remains in the language of the written monuments of the Azerbaijani language and in other Turkish-language monuments.
